Sadananda sworn in as K’taka CM

yeddyMr. Devaragunda Venkappa  Sadananda Gowda, BJP Lok Sabha member from Udipi constituency and a close lieutenant of the former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa, was today sworn in as the 26th chief minister of Karnataka.

Governor HR Bharadwaj administered the oath of office and secrecy to the 58-year-old Sadananda Gowda at the Raj Bhavan.

Mr Sadananda Gowda will have a term of 22 months as elections are due in May 2013. Mr Gowda was chosen as new leader in place of the tainted Mr BS Yeddyurappa who quit in the wake of the Lokayukta report on illegal mining that indicted him.
