Striking the people of Karnataka and the media out of the blue, Ex- Chief Minister of Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa has announced that he would quit BJP on November 30, today but what could be the reason for a sharp rift between BJP strongman and the party.
The 70 year old Lingayat leader is also keen on revealing some shocking facts before he quits BJP for good to steer his own party, Karnataka Janatha Paksha, KJP, into the crowd. He mentioned that it was the party's attitude that drove him away from BJP after he was ill-treated in the party. He expressed discontentment within the party and felt betrayed by the Central leadership. It is no news that he had been sulking since an year after he was not appointed the CM of the state by the center.
Though the war now is between the CM Sadananda Gowda and ex CM Yeddyurappa, he hinted that the central leadership had sparked fires between them indicating the influence of Nitin Gadkari, the president of BJP in the rift.
He also lashed at several other BJP leaders as he said, "Sadananda Gowda promised me that he will resign from the post of CM..But central leadership told him not to resign." His strength of placing trust in people has taken him down today. He has learnt his lessons the hard way. He added, “With great disappointment, I decided to come out of BJP."
Sadananda Gowda and Jagadish Shettar have been promoted by Yeddyurappa himself and they have betrayed his trust and been disloyal, he claimed. After being indicted in the mining scam among several other activities of corruption and scams, Yeddyurappa was imprisoned and asked to step down as the CM of the state. Gowda who was then appointed as the CM was ephemeral as he was almost immediately replaced by Shettar after the followers of the BJP strongman demanded his ouster.
