Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadanand Gowda has gracefully offered his resignation to the Bharatiya Janata Party President Nitin Ghadkari today in New Delhi. And officially the BJP acknowledged the CM for his sportive decision. The BJP high command also issued a notification that the Rural Development Minister Jagadish Shettar shall helm the state for the next eleven months, till the forthcoming general elections, scheduled in 2014. in his address the BJP President said that Mr Shettar is a man who has no bitter past and abled leader. He also expressed that the party will be strengthened by his able leadership during the next eleven months.
Shettar was strongly supported by the former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, The former CM had an strong entourage of sitting MLAs in the Karnatak assembly and staged a coupe to destabilise the Gowda government if a leader from the Lingayat is not seated in the CMO. As per the reports a Lingayat Leader should be made chief minister as that community has been strongly backing the BJP party.
However the high command is still perplexed over the issue as to who should assist the CM to satisfy the ego of the warring factions in the state. The outgoing CM had made announcement to the Delhi media that on Monday he would meet the state Governor and submit his resignation, formally. Hence the state shall have Mr Shettar as the new CM.
