They innovate to fight the challenges of modern lifestyle luxuries that give birth to lifestyle diseases—ranging from metabolic syndrome due to excess of salt, sugar and butter to pollution-induced problems of the lungs and mosquitoes."

The city recorded its worst outbreak of dengue in 2014, affecting thousands and killing 12. Mumbai records the country's highest number of accidents (at roughly 25,000 a year) and is third on the suicide charts.
