Hyderabad Rains take a Heavy Toll on the Roads:- The recent downpour in Hyderabad shattered all the low-lying regions. Most of the regions are flooded and there was power disruption in the city. The Telangana government spent crores of money during the recent coronavirus pandemic time and they are reopened for public recently. Most of the roads in the city are washed away or partially damaged because of the recent rains. The heavy rains lashed the Telangana capital from Sunday to Tuesday. Some of the roads are now out of shape and the commuters are finding it tough to travel on these roads.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) utilized the minimal traffic movement in the city in the recent times and they re-carpeted several roads in Hyderabad. The top layers of the most of the roads are now spoiled completely. The municipal officials are waiting for the water levels to come down so that they can predict and resume the works for the roads. Several roads are filled with potholes and the bitumen layers are washed bringing out the metal and the gravel. Some of the commuters say that it is quite challenging to travel on these roads. The GHMC re-carpeted 709 km in seven packages across the limits of Hyderabad. Most of the works are completed and some of the roads are vanished again because of the recent rains.
