IMD Warns Of Heavy Rainfall For Hyderabad:- Telangana witnessed heavy rain already in the month of June and in the first week of July. Hyderabad has been receiving showers on a regular basis mostly in the evenings. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of a heavy rainfall in Hyderabad on Friday and Saturday. The city is expected to receive a rainfall of 64-114 mm and an intense spell of 20-30 mm per hour in most parts of the city. Red alerts and Orange alerts are issued for various districts of Telangana. The civic agencies are alerted and they have been asked to take all the necessary action.
As per the forecast of IMD, it said "Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur in the isolated places in some parts of the city. Light to moderate rains, at times intense spells are very likely to occur in some parts of the city during the afternoon and evening". IMD issued an orange alert for the regions of Jagityal, Karimnagar, Peddapally, Rajanna Sircilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Siddipet and Kamareddy districts today. A red alert is issued for Mancherial, Nizamabad and Nirmal tomorrow. The heavy rains may have an impact on the rail and road traffic predicted IMD. The officials of GHMC are on high alert as there would be water pooling in the low-lying regions of Hyderabad.
