Hyderabad Kept On High Alert Due To Heavy Rainfall:- Cyclone Gulab made a downfall yesterday evening and the Telugu states along with Odisha are issued high rain alert. In Telangana, the rains are expected to continue for three days. Hyderabad witnessed a heavy downpour. The Telangana capital was kept on high alert due to the heavy rainfall. There is waterlogging in low-lying regions because of the heavy rain last night. The officials of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) kept the city on high alert after they got alerted by the Indian Meteorological Department. IMD said that the city has to be kept on high alert till September 29th.
The officials are reviewing the situation and they have advised the people to stay home. "Alert Monsoon Emergency (MET) and station them at possible inundation locations based on previous experiences. Ensure that emergency team personnel are on the field and respond to calls.” issued GHMC officials. Relief and rehabilitation centres are arranged to shift the people who are staying in low-lying regions. All the basic amenities are arranged. The GHMC officials also arranged transport facilities for them to shift them on a safe note. As per the information from Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Kapra received a heavy rainfall with 16.5mm. Madhapur received a rainfall of 16 mm.
