More troubles for YSRCP MLA Pinneli Rama Krishna Reddy:- The Election Commission has instructed the Chief Electoral Officer to direct the Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police to take strict action against anyone who damages Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). The move comes after Macherla MLA Pinneli Ramakrishna Reddy was caught on camera breaking an EVM at polling station 202 on May 13. The Palnadu district election officials submitted video recordings of the incident and web recordings of all polling stations where EVM machines were damaged in seven polling booths. The MLA has been charged by the police. This order from the Election Commission is intended to ensure that the peaceful conduct of polls is not disrupted in the future by anyone damaging EVMs. On May 13, the day of the election, the Palnadu district experienced violence related to the polls. Following the surfacing of a video of the alleged incident involving the ruling YSRCP MLA, the poll panel submitted the video clips to the state police for investigation.

According to an official statement from the chief electoral officer of Andhra Pradesh, there were 202 polling stations vandalized in Macherla Assembly constituency. The Palnadu district election officials have handed over video footage of all these polling stations to the police for an investigation into the incident. The MLA's name has been included as an accused in the investigation by the police. The EC is treating this matter very seriously and has instructed the CEO to inform the DGP to take strict action against all those involved in these incidents. The EC hopes that such misdeeds will not be repeated in the future to ensure peaceful elections. The opposition leader and national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party, Nara Lokesh, claimed that the MLA from the ruling party led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy damaged the EVMs due to fear of losing the elections.

Nara Lokesh has recently shared a video on X, in which he accuses YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of killing his uncle, as well as the voters who supported him and democracy itself. He claims that YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy vandalised the EVM at the Palwai Gate polling centre in the Macherla Constituency, and demands that the Election Commission takes strict action against him. Lokesh asserts that people will give a real verdict on YCP's factional politics on June 4. On Tuesday, an Ambedkar statue at Agraharam village in Pithapuram of Kakinada district was also allegedly vandalised by unidentified persons. This led to a ruckus in the vicinity and disrupted vehicular movement. The police assured strict action against the vandals after the Dalits gathered in protest, demanding justice. The protests led to a disruption of traffic movement, and the police deployed personnel in large numbers, diverting traffic to the highway. Lokesh is the son of former CM and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

The House is up for grabs in Andhra Pradesh, with the TDP battling on 144 seats as part of a deal with the BJP and Jana Sena, led by actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan. The allotment of seats has resulted in the Jana Sena contesting 21 seats and the BJP contesting 10. On May 13, the state voted for both the assembly and Lok Sabha in a single phase, which was marred by widespread violence as polling came to a close.
