Hyderabad Rains: Government Extends Holiday:- Telangana will witness a wide range of rains in the coming two days. On Thursday and Friday, the city has seen huge rainfall. The government has extended holidays to schools, offices and private sector offices till Saturday.
Educational institutions were closed a day before and will be re-opened on Monday. Several roads, underpasses and residential colonies, are filled with water and the few districts in the state are also on high alert. After the enter the southwest monsoon, the state has seen drastic changes in weather and the rains in the state are worst and triple than normal. Only on the 20th of July Hyderabad has seen a rainfall of 27.9cm. Under the cyclonic influence over Chhattisgarh, under the low-pressure area, Telangana will likely see moderate rains in the coming 48 hours.
Many areas are reported for waterlogging. Even the road of Dr BR Ambedkar Telangana state secretariat is filled with water. Twitter is trending with a tag, "I am #Hyderabadi, This is our Water World." Currently, IMD has issued a yellow alert in the city and a red alert in Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Bhupalpally and Mahabubnagar. Residents are asked not to leave their houses till an emergency and also asked to take necessary precautions and plans.
