A woman from Alipore sought the help of a police 22 days after she was raped allegedly by the landlord. The woman was a paying guest in a house in Alipore.

The joint commissioner of the police crime department, P K Ghosh, told the media that the report had been made on Monday after which a complaint had been registered at the Chetla Police Station.  “The woman alleged that she was raped on 18th June by the owner of the house in Alipore where she lived as a paying guest”, he said.

The owner of the house, Ghosh said, was absconding the house and not traced yet. Further details are awaited.
