Trinamool Congress lashed out at the finance minister Pranab Mukherjee for allegedly trying to split the party. TMC MP Derek O Brien has tweeted stating that the finance minister spoke to MP Kabir Suman and sought his support to become the President. Derek O Brien, who has found fault with Pranab, has said that dada's actions were unethical.
This was Derek's tweet: "Pranab M directly called up a TMC MP seeking support. Politically ethical to do? Or trying to break TMC? Try & try again. Won't break :)." He didn't stop with that. Derek posted another tweet on the same subject. He said: “Lots of Breaking News on President polls. But 'he' who is trying to Break TMC can try another 1000 times... Your time starts now."
Although some members of TMC apparently supported Pranab Mukhejee earlier, the party members adhered to the high command (Mamata Banerjee) when didi gave whip and asked all members of TMC not to support Pranab Mukherjee. However, NDA is divided on the presidential candidate while one of the close allies of UPA, TMC is against Pranab as presidential candidate.
