IMD Issues Flash Flood Alert For Telangana

IMD Issues Flash Flood Alert For Telangana:- After the downfall of the cyclone Gulab, the Telugu states received extensive rainfall. Telangana was kept on high alert and the government arranged all the facilities by the rescue teams. GHMC officials were on high alert and asked the people to be extra cautious when it comes to the place where there is a huge waterlogging. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad issued a flash flood risk alert for Telanagana in the next 24 hours. The cyclone Gulab got intensified into a deep depression and it is around Jagdalpur (110 km) and 140 km from Kalingapatnam. Telangana is expected to get heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in most of the districts of the state in the next 24 hours.

IMD said that the districts of Macherial, Asifabad, Karimnagar, Warangal, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Rajanna Siricilla, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Jagital, Mahbubabad and Janagoan can expect floods due to the heavy rains in the next one day. The rains will result in waterlogging and water pooling in most of the places. Some of the places will be hit by thunderstorms and lightning with a speed of 30-40kmph. They are expected in the isolated places of the state. Tirumalayapalem in Khammam district reported 151.5 mm rainfall which is the highest in Telangana. Wyra, Kamapur, Mulugu and Chityal received a rainfall of 14 cm. 15 districts of Telangana are kept on high alert. The government of Telangana declared a holiday in the state due to the heavy rains.
