Delhi High Court had rejected the anticipatory bail that was applied by the lawyers of former Haryana Minister Gopal Kanda after he was accused for the Geetika Sharma Suicide Case. He had been absconding from the police and has also not appeared for the interrogation that was scheduled on Wednesday. The police have also raided his home, school and farm house but in vain.
His lawyers insisted that he was mentioned in Geetika's suicide note but there was no mention of him being responsible for the suicide.
Aruna Chaddha another exevutive officer of the MDLR airlines was also named in the suicide note was arrested for her alleged role in the case on Thursday. She was remanded to police custody for two das for interrogation by a Delhi court since she was uncooperative in the investigation.
Though her advocate BS Rana had opposed the plea for a police custody was not justified, the court had decided to go with the plea of the police quoting that the investigating officer (IO) had specific reasons to ask for a police custody.
Geetika Sharma (23), who had been an airhostess earlier in MDLR airlines owned by Kanda had mentioned Kanda and Chaddha in her suicide note alleging that they had harassed her to the verge of comitting suicide.
Kanda and Chaddha have rejected the allegation.
