Gopal Kanda who is currently in the police custody for interrogation after the Delhi court granted the custody would soon have to be presented before the court after his granted custody is expected to expire today on Friday. Nearing the end of the custody, police have not managed to extract any significant clues related to the case but for Kanda blaming his aide, senior executive, Aruna Chaddha, in the suicide of his employee Geetika Sharma.
Kanda had told the police that he had not contacted Geetika at least 45 days before her death and hence any allegation of abetting the suicide should not applicable to him. He also said the blame should go to Aruna Chaddha who was constantly in touch with the deceased on the phone.
Another woman Ankita, who was also named in the suicide note, had left for Singapore. Police are in the process of sending her a notice to be back in the city for the investigations.
Kanda is to join the court on Friday but it is highly likely that the cops would ask for an extension of the custody especially on the grounds that they need him to be confronted with Ankita.
Kanda also told the police that he had not asked Aruna to place calls to Geetika. Geetika's family too had alleged that Aruna had called Geetika on August 3. On the next day Kanda had not picked up the call from Geetika’s mother who had called to inquire about the problem.
