Haryana Ministers have earlier given bizarre and never expected reasons blaming the Chinese fast foods for the rapes in the state and now it is the turn of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamatha Banerjee to give her explanations of the happenings that plagued Haryana. Mamatha gave a far more acceptable reason for the sins in Haryana but any reason would be better than “chowmein” for rape right?

Mamatha said that the open mindedness of the people is the reason the rapes are on the rise. The interaction between men and women has been increasing ever since and has become more open over the days. She said, "Earlier if men and women would hold hands, they would get caught by parents and reprimanded but now everything is so open. It's like an open market with open options”.

She also lashed out at the a section of media for suppressing facts whilst making a few remote incidents in the state more popular than they needed to be. This she called news pollution and negative journalism which “glorified” the sinful acts by highlighting them. "Everyday rape incidents are being highlighted as if the entire state has become the land of rapists. Rape is sought to be glorified by these people. This will not be tolerated by people. I would like to say that negative journalism only destroys and it is time to champion positive journalism," she said
