While Kanda was nowhere to be seen even as the Delhi Police are scouting for him in all possible locations, they have recently carried out a few raids in his hometown, Sisra and have arrested a relative, Bunty Bansal for questioning. Kanda had been on the run since he was asked to come to the police station for a formal inquiry in the Geethika Sharma suicide case.
Over 50 places were thoroughly searched including Goa, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, and 25 people were also interrogated in the same case but the former Haryana Minister was nowhere to be traced. The police had also asked High Court not to grant him a bail as his interrogation was necessary for the investigation of the case. They had also asked that Aruna Chaddha, his senior executive in the MDLR airlines, another accused in the case should be confronted with Kanda to find out valuable information. Aruna Chaddha was arrested earlier on August 8th and would be presented in the court today.
The police had found a note in Geethika Sharma's residence after he had hung herself which had blamed Mr Kanda and Chaddha for harassing her. Kanda had said that it was a baseless and a false allegation but had been absconding ever since.
