Mary Kom the legendary boxer from North East wrote her autobiography titled "Unbreakable" which was inaugurated by Amitabh Bachchan on Monday.

Amitabh Bachchan said "Mary Kom is already a legendary figure in the country, loved and admired by all. She has made innumerable contributions in breaking stereotypes about women, more so from the north-east. The book beautifully brings out her indestructible spirit and is an inspirational read for everyone."

Mary Kom faced many problems pursuing her loved career. She is self-absorbed -driven and obsessed with boxing. She took a strong stance on some of the problems Indian women boxers face till now although it is a well recognized sport now.

"As a child I had no one to guide me. I used to go to Imphal from my village where I was introduced to women's boxing. I did not tell my family what I was up to because if they had stopped me from boxing, my morale would have really gone down," she says.

Her friends discouraged her because boxing is "not a woman's game". "If a man can fight, why can't a woman? I have proved myself," she said.

When talking about leaving her village for Imphal to become a boxer, she writes, "I wondered if I was being selfish, with my parents now having to do all the work (at home), even the share that I took care of. What would my siblings do? Now my parents would have to handle them as well. But I also knew that I was making the right move."

Mary Kom wrote in her book, "Because of our oriental looks, people from the Northeast are often mocked in other parts of India. We're called Nepalis, or Chinkies, and people call out things like chingching chong-chong,"

When she faced problem of adjusting with two coaches Anoop Kumar and Chandralal who were appointed for the women’s team in 2012 Olympics, she objected it with in a mild tone, "a new coach just before the Olympics would destabilise the team."

Mary Kom gave a fitting reply to whoever tried to disparage her. "I declared vehemently that nobody could stop me from boxing." she says, not once, but over and over. She knows a champion can't quit.
