India reports the highest ever cases after December 5th:- The cases of coronavirus are increasing again after a strong wave. Though experts warned of a second wave, the people are not bothered after the restrictions are lifted. The daily tally of coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours reached 35,871 and this is the highest since December 5th. This is a clear indication that the number of cases are rising at a fast pace. Narendra Modi during his virtual conference with the Chief Ministers of Indian states that the cases saw a considerable rise in 70 districts of Indian states and Union Territories. The total number of coronavirus cases reported in total in the country reached 1,14,74,605 as per the reports from the Union Health Ministry.

The active cases in the country stand at 2,52,364 which is 2.20 percent of the total number of infections. The recovery rate dropped down to 96.41 percent. Maharashtra alone accounted for 65 percent of the new cases in the last 24 hours. 17,741 people recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours and 172 people passed away in total. The total number of recoveries in the country are 1,10,63,025 and the death toll stands at 1,59,216. The total number of people who took up the vaccination in the country are said to be 3,71,43,255. 30 people including teachers and students tested positive in a school in Nandore. The Maharashtra government is yet to take a decision about imposing a lockdown in Mumbai after the new cases kept increasing. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a review meeting with the Health Minister and Health Secretary about the rise in the coronavirus cases in the state.
