Farmers Protest Enters 23rd Day:- The farmers from Punjab and Haryana reached the New Delhi border and they have been protesting against the introduced three farm laws by the Centre. The Farmer Unions met the Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar several times but the talks failed. The Centre proposed several amendments and sent a report to the farmer unions but they weren't convinced. The protests reached 23rd day and lakhs of farmers are camping at the border. Several roads to New Delhi are partially blocked and the traffic is diverted. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi through a video conference said that the farm laws were not introduced overnight and ample amount of efforts were kept for them to get implemented.
Several opposition parties expressed their support for farmers who have been protesting from the past 22 days. Tamil Nadu's DMK started a day-long hunger strike in the state and all the party leaders, supporters are participating in the hunger strike as a support for the farmers. M K Stalin, party MP Kanimozhi are present for the protest. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Centre is ready to initiate talks with the Farmer Unions and he said that the normal life is disrupted because of these protests. All those who stop trains that are carrying supplies to Indian soldiers are not farmers said Tomar. The farmers warned that the protests would be intensified in the coming days if the government will not step down and cancel the introduced three farm laws in the country.
