Farmers Protest: Talks With The Centre Cancelled:- The protests of farmers against the new farm laws reached the 12th day and the roads leading to the national capital New Delhi are completely closed. Farmers gathered in lakhs and staged a peaceful protest. Several rounds of discussions took place with the Centre but they weren't successful. The Farmer Unions yesterday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and he clarified that there would be no changes done to the newly introduced farm laws. With this development, the proposed meeting between the Farmer Unions and the Agriculture Minister scheduled today at Vigyan Bhawan was cancelled. 13 Farmer Unions met Amit Shah to discuss about the three farm laws. The unions informed Amit Shah that they would call off the strike only after their demands are completely met.

The meeting continued for two and a half hours last night. Amit Shah promised to make amendments on the minimum support price and APMC. But there was no clarity on the other proposals placed by the Farmer Unions. The Unions said that there is no compromise on their demands and they want a strong yes from the government to call off their protests. The normal life was disrupted in several parts of the country after Bharath Bandh that was called by the farmers. Several political parties supported the protests. All the key highways of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana were blocked from 11 AM to 3 PM. The protestors blocked the railway tracks in Bihar, Odisha and West Bengal. Delhi cops kept Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal under house arrest. The Farmers Unions are extremely happy with the support and response. They said that the agitation would reach the next level if their demands are not met.
