Hyderabad Based Startup Develops Low-Cost Ventilator:- Ventilators are the most needed during this coronavirus crisis. A startup based in the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad developed a low-cost ventilator that is portable and can be used on emergency based. The device is called 'Jeevan Lite' and is developed by the Centre for Healthcare Entrepreneurship (CHE). The ventilator is battery-operated and can be used in areas without assured power supply. Aerobiosys Innovations is aiming to produce 50 to 70 units per day. They are in plans to sell Jeevan Lite at a price of Rs 1 lakh which is quite economical when compared to the other ventilators that are available in the country.
Aerobiosys Innovations also developed a mobile app that can communicate with the unit and it can be functioned. It can perform both invasive and non-invasive ventilation for patients. This can also be used for patients of all ages. Aerobiosys Innovations said that the design can be delivered by this month. They are in plans to produce 1 lakh units in the coming three months. The number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country saw a huge rise in the last couple of days.
