The Labour Department is likely to issue notice regarding a shut down on polling day in the Hyderabad city. The notice with instructions to effect that all centres of business activity including shopping malls remain shut till 6 p.m. on April 30th.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner and Hyderabad District Election Officer (DEO), Somesh Kumar, said the instructions would be implemented strictly and those found violating the guidelines will be punished.
Under section 31 [2] of A.P. Shops and Establishments Act and every business activity will be closed and the GHMC will be roped flying squads to monitor each constituency. However, hospitals would be exempted from this shut down.
