GHMC Takes A U-Turn On Flood Relief Fund:- Here is some bad news coming for the citizens of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). The government of Telangana promised to resume giving Rs 10,000 as flood relief fund to the families who suffered losses during the recent Hyderabad floods. The program came to a halt after the High Court of Telangana asked to halt the distribution program before the GHMC polls. The government announced that the distribution would resume after the commencement of the results but it did not happen. GHMC took a U-turn on this on providing the financial aid for all those who got their homes damaged due to the floods. The GHMC officials clarified that they never received any instructions from the government.

The officials of GHMC urged the people not to go to Mee Seva centres and apply for the relief funds. The GHMC polls were held on December 1st and the results came out on December 4th. The TRS government is not happy with the results as they lost half of their seats to BJP. Telangana Chief Minister KCR himself revealed that the people can apply for the relief fund at Mee Seva centres after December 7th. Right from Monday, the people thronged in large numbers to the Mee Seva centres to file their applications and they had to return back disappointed. They are confident that the field inspections would be conducted soon but it did not happen. The GHMC officials yesterday issued a clarification that the field inspection was kept on hold and they received no instructions from the government of Telangana.
