Special Commissioner To Protect Hyderabad Lakes:- The Telangana government has been trying its best to regain the water source in the state. The government turned a helping hand for the farmers and the cultivation reached a new high in the recent years. To protect the lakes in the city of Hyderabad, the government of Telangana decided to appoint a Special Commissioner in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). Telangana Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao (KTR) announced the news during a review meeting yesterday. KTR said that there are 185 water bodies within the limits of GHMC and the Telangana government took up the work for beautification, protection and the development of the lakes.

The works will take pace after a Special Commissioner gets appointed told KTR. He said that the new Commissioner will be responsible to implement the plans that are initiated by the government of Telangana. Sewage Management, installation of new Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) along with marking Full Tank Level (FTL) and diverting the treated water will be the other responsibilities. KTR said that the green cover in the state is increased in the state. The Special Commissioner will interact and coordinate with the Revenue Department, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and MA&UD to execute the works told KTR. GHMC officials released a press note about the same. KCR reviewed the works that are taken up by the concerned departments during the recent meeting.
