Fishermen caught in high seas as boat gets stranded

The fishermen from East Godavari District as usual set out on sail for fishing. The boat got stranded due to rough weather, at about 15 Km from coast. The nine fishermen who have been stranded since Tuesday are facing dire straits. Unable to get back to coast due to bad weather are stranded in the middle out there. The coastal belt is struck with cyclone storm Thana, which has caused high tidal waves in the seas.

As soon as they were caught stranded at high seas, they started calling their relations on shore to get help. The fishermen who left the Antarvedhi coast belonged to Konapapapeta of the district. The sad story carried on by a TV channel caught the eyes of the government machinery. The government personnel are trying their best to retrieve the stranded fishermen.

Meanwhile Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre said the sea condition would be rough to very rough and advised fishermen not to venture into the sea. Those who were out at sea were advised to return to the coast. All nine coastal districts in Andhra have gone on high-alert as the cyclonic storm is heading towards the coast.
