Arvind Kejriwal and K Kavitha's Custody extended by 14 days:- Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Telangana MP K Kavitha - opposition politicians arrested last month, weeks before Assembly polls began - have been sentenced to 14 days' extended detention on charges of liquor policy fraud. The Aam Aadmi Party leader and the Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader, who are in Delhi's Tihar Jail, are next scheduled to be sentenced in court on May 7. The Delhi Chief Minister is challenging his March 21 arrest by law enforcement agencies on money laundering charges in the Supreme Court. The court heard the matter on April 15, but denied Kejriwal immediate relief pending a response from the federal agency. The court is scheduled to hear arguments on April 29, three days after the second-stage vote.

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had rejected the same plea and held that the ED had submitted sufficient material to support its contention - Mr. Kejriwal was involved in drafting the now abandoned policy and the ₹100 crore It claimed that bribes of Rs.0.00 were allegedly used to finance AAP election campaigns in Punjab and Goa. AAP and Mr Kejriwal have denied all allegations and accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of carrying out "political vendetta" against its rivals ahead of elections. AAP and opposition parties have repeatedly alleged that federal agencies, such as the Enforcement Directorate, are targeting opposition leaders on orders from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. The Center rejected this claim.

In a similar case, Mr. Kejriwal, a type 2 diabetic, (allegedly) received his first insulin injection after 32 days. The injections came after his blood sugar levels rose to an alarmingly high 320 mg/dl. Mr Kejriwal had moved the court last week seeking insulin injections, but the ED rejected the plea and granted him medical bail, saying the chief minister deliberately ate high-sugar foods to raise his blood sugar levels. I asked for it. A Delhi court on Monday ordered a panel of experts from the centrally run All India Institute of Medical Sciences to assess the prime minister's condition and decide whether he actually needs insulin.

Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, is scheduled to hear the outcome of her bail application on May 2 at Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi, pursuant to her reservation order . The plea is against the arrest of Kavitha, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation while she was still in jail in the ED case. The ED had arrested her from her home in Hyderabad on March 15 following a heated argument with her elder brother and BRS leader KT Rama Rao. The case against the BRS chief is that she was part of a businessman's cartel, the South Group, which allegedly paid a bribe of Rs 600 million to AAP for the allocation of her liquor license.
