KCR banned from Campaigning for Two Days:- Former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, was today suspended from campaigning for 48 hours by the Election Commission for making "derogatory" remarks against the Congress. The 48-hour ban will take effect tonight at 8pm. Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) president has been banned for two days from holding public meetings, public processions, public meetings, holding shows or interviews, or speaking publicly in the media in connection with the ongoing elections. The Election Commission announced that. His controversial statements are very sharp. ” The Congress had on April 6 lodged a complaint with the Election Commission over certain “objectionable” remarks made by KCR at a press conference in Telangana's Sircilla town the previous day.

The Commission had earlier served a notice of demand on his KCR regarding the alleged comments. However, the former prime minister denied the allegations in a statement on April 23. Pointing out that the meaning of the original statement was lost in translation, he said, "Election officials in Telangana and Sircilla are not Telugu and have little understanding of the local dialects of Telugu. He accused Congress of plagiarizing parts of it." Sentences taken out of context from his press conference. "The English translation of the text is inaccurate and distorted," he said. According to the Election Commission, KCR maintained that he limited his criticism to Congress policies and programs and did not dwell on the personal aspects of Congress leaders. After considering the Congress' complaint and KCR's response, the committee concluded that the BRS chief "violated the provisions of the Model Code of Conduct." K. Chandrashekhar Rao has become the second politician to be banned from campaigning for 48 hours after ongoing Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala.
