Cyclone Asani to hit AP Coast Tomorrow:- As per the predictions of the IMD, Cyclone Asani will hit the coast between Kakinada and Visakhapatnam by tomorrow morning. Though there are predictions that it would hit the coast by today, Cyclone Asani will hit the coast tomorrow and it will weaken into a cyclonic storm. Asani is now in the southwest Bay of Bengal and 260 km from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh. It is also located 300 km from the south of Visakhapatnam and 490 km south-southwest part of Gopalpur in Odisha. Cyclone Asani is moving at a speed of 10 kmph and it will move towards the coast of Andhra Pradesh this night.

"SCS ASANI lay centered at 1130 IST today about 210km SSE of KAKINADA, 310km SSW of Visakhapatnam, to reach close to Kakinada and Visakhapatnam coasts by 11th morning and move along Andhra Pradesh coast and weaken into a Cyclonic Storm by 11th morning," told the Indian Meteorological Department. The cyclone was moving at a speed of 25 kmph yesterday and has slowed down today to 5 kmph. The government of Andhra Pradesh alerted the coastal region and special rescue camps have been arranged. The state received showers on Monday and Tuesday. Vizag port suspended operations because of cyclone Asani. Indigo canceled 23 flights to and from Vizag because of the bad weather conditions. Four Air Asia flights also got canceled.
