Hyderabad to experience a two-day hell

SouthCentralRailwayAdding to the woes of the general public who are already adversely affected with the on going all people’s strike which is on its 11th day today, the Telangana political JAC has called for a two-day blockade of the train services across Telangana since Friday midnight.

The train blockade, the second in the last two-and-a half-months, will cut off north and south train links with Hyderabad till Sunday midnight. Train services between Telangana and other parts of Hyderabad too will come to a standstill.

SCR Cancels train services

The South Central Railway said it had cancelled 55 express and 176 passenger train services during the two day blockade and the money for the two day reservations made in advance would be returned to the passengers.

With the cancellation, there would be no trains between Hyderabad and Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Guwahati, Patna, Rajkot and Balharshah.

The SCR said 63 train services including 33 of express trains are either diverted or cut short.
Additionally, 222 MMTS (Multi-Modal Transport System) services or local trains in the twin cities and 102 DHMU (Diesel Hydraulic Multiple Unit) trains in other parts of Telangana were also cancelled by the authorities.

2-day auto bandh

As part of the on-going mass general strike, the Telangana auto rickshaw unions announced a two-day strike to coincide with the two day rail blockade.  The auto bandh will boost up the morale of the protagonists of separate Telangana but this will cause much hardship to the people of the twin cities.

Already, public transport has come to a standstill in Hyderabad with thousands of RTC employees of the Telangana region boycotting their duties as part of the mass general strike. Their strike has entered the fifth day today.
