Mild tension prevailed at Kukatpally in Hyderabad since this morning with students’ parents assembling at the NRI College and demanding the management to open the college after the Dasara vacation.
The parents, who gathered in hundreds, argued with the management that the academic year of the students is being wasted with the college remaining closed as part of the all people’s strike aimed at achieving separate Telangana state.
Soon, hundreds of pro-Telangana activists gathered at the college and asked the management not to open the institution as all educational institutions remained closed due to the strike across Telangana.
Following the fierce arguments, the T activists attacked the college and destroyed its furniture and window panes forcing police to enter the scene. Police, who reached the spot in large numbers, were trying to restore peace around the college through mediation when reports last came in.
