In the wake of the invitation extended by the congress high command to the PRP to merge it with congress, the stocks of PRP chief and mega star Chiranjeevi have gone up by leaps and bounds overnight. He had a pleasant surprise when 15 MLAs of his party had attended a meeting convened by him today in Hyderabad to discuss the invitation of congress to his party to merge with it.
The extended meeting, attended by MLAs and senior leaders, has authorized the party president Chiru to take a decision on the congress invitation for merger.
Out of the 18 MLAs of the PRP, 15 MLAs have attended the meeting except Sobha Nagi Reddy and Katasani Ramreddy, who openly announced their support to the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy.
Chiru has invited all the MLAs of his party for the meeting but the two MLAs preferred not to attend. One more MLA Mr E. Nani has informed the party president about his inability to attend as he was preoccupied with some important domestic engagement but he told Chiru that he would abide by the decisions of the meeting.
Chiru had never seen such a big number of MLAs at his closed door meetings in recent times and political observers attribute it to the possibility of some of the MLAs getting ministerial berths in the cabinet and corporation chairman posts being offered by congress government in the state.
