Several parents today met the Chief Minister Mr Kirankumar reddy at his camp office and requested him to ensure that the schools and colleges remain opened in Hyderabad and other Telangana districts so that the academic year of students is not spoiled in the wake of the ongoing mass general strike.
They suggested that all colleges and schools, closed because of the mass general strike, should be opened with police protection immediately.
The parents, who held a meeting yesterday in Basheerbagh and appealed to the Telangana political JAC leaders to exempt the schools and colleges from the strike, also submitted a memorandum to the CM requesting to take steps to see that educational institutions are exempted from all sorts of agitations and strikes in future.
It may be mentioned that the parents of Kukatpalli area assembled in their locality a few days ago demanding that the NRI college be opened immediately to save the academic year. Later, the college was attacked by the TRS activists leading to mild tension in the area.
Again, two days ago, parents assembled at the Narayana College at Nallkunta and demanded the management to open the college immediately for saving the academic year.
Manda Krishna Madiga warning to KCR
Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Mr Manda Krishna Madiga warned the TRS and the Political JAC that he would stage a dharna in Hyderabad if they didn’t exempt the schools and colleges from the on going strike immediately.
“Your children are studying in corporate schools and colleges and international educational institutions but you are asking the other educational institutions to close down. This is resulting in loss of education to the BC, ST and SC students,” he told them. “You will pay a heavy price for your attitude,” he warned them.
