Sikh for Justice, the NGO and Sikh rights group had rewarded the police officer who had put his life on the lines to rescue and defend the Sikhs from the shootings in the Wisconsin Gurudwara, the legal advisor of the group Gurpatwant Singh Pannun said.
The group had also blamed US for not being able to protect the minorities at home but tries to defend them around the world. Sikh for Justice had blamed Obama and his poor administration to prevent attacks on the Sikhs since the 7/11 event.
They had also said that they would meet with US Commission on International Religious Freedom to suggest concrete measures to the Obama administration for protection of religious minorities in the US .
Pannun said that this incident was targeted to harm the minority Sikhs and not the case of mistaken identity.
"These attacks have cultivated deep sense of insecurity among the American Sikh community" Pannun said. He added that it is high time that Obama works for their security too. He also asked for a trust find to be formed in North America by the gurudwaras to prevent such occurrences in the future.
