Another Sikh man killed in robbery

It has been less than two weeks since the gruesome killings in the Sikh holy temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin and yet again another Sikh elderly person was killed in an attempt of robbery in the same state.

The assailant had escaped but since the manhunt had already been launched he should soon be nabbed.

Meanwhile the news of another death in the Sikh Community had sent waves of shock to the people in Washington even after the police confirmed that this event was in no way related to the August 5th incidents. On 5 August, a 40- something old veteran had entered the Gurudwara and open fired killing six devotees.

In the latest incident a 56 year old man, Dalbir Singh, was shot when he was in a grocery store in Milwaukee city, Wisconsin on Wednesday. The grocery store belonged to Jatinder Singh, the nephew of the deceased.

On Wednesday night, a few unidentified people had entered the grocery store and had pointed the gun at Jatinder Singh's head. Jatinder Singh had managed to make it to the back of the store along with his uncle and then closed the door.

The bullets fired by one of the robbers had pierced the door and hit Dalbir Singh, killing him.

Dalbir Singh was also frequented the Oak Creek Gurudwara regularly but was fortunately not present when the shootings took place while Jatinder had returned from the temple a while before the shootout began.
