15 trapped in Meghalaya coal mine

Fifteen miners working in a coal mine in Meghalaya remain trapped in the coal mine for 6 days today.

Rongsa Awe Village of the South Garo Hills Dristrict has a coal mine where the mishap has occurred. The workers were trapped in the mine on the afternoon of Fiday. Rescue workers have made attempts to save the trapped workers but their efforts were all in vain. No success has been seen yet. Water is being pumped out of the mine to keep the men alive and save them.

However, they still remain trapped inside the mine. Police have arrested three officials in the mining company including the mine developer.

Further details regarding this case are awaited.
