Pakistan Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani said today that President Asif Ali Zardari has been undergoing medical treatment in Dubai and may take a minimum of two weeks to come back to Pakistan.
Political tongues are wagging across Pakistan discussing the fate of Zardari in future politics after he secretly flew out of Pakistan last week for treatment of a heart ailment. There are reports that Zardari, 56, had a mild stroke after which he flew to Dubai for treatment.
“Zardari was improving but he may take two more weeks before he returns as a normal man,” said Gilani in his interview to BBC news.
Zardari developed health problems after the Supreme Court directed him to appear before it in connection with a letter he had written to the US authorities seeking its help in reducing the power of the country’s military. (JUBS)
