Indian naval radars detected a Chinese ship spying on India near Andaman in the waters of the Indian Ocean.
According to a report sent by the radar system, the ship has been making suspicious moments near Andaman for the last 20 days. Alerted by the radars, Indian Navy dispatched a strategic ship nearer to it but by the time the Indian ship reached the spot, the Chinese spying ship entered into Sri Lankan waters to escape retaliatory action.
The ship, which entered the Indian sea waters in the guise of a fishing ship, is reportedly equipped with 22 important laboratories. The Chinese ship has studied the depth of the sea water in and around Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the generally prevailing weather conditions there, according to sources.
Indian Defence officials have taken a serious view of the Chinese action and fear there is a threat to the security to the country. “Our forces are always alert and there is nothing to worry,” said a senior official of the Defence Ministry in Delhi when asked about the impact of the Chinese action.
