Virendar Sehwag dismissed the speculation upon his retirement news, saying that, he did not retire yet.

Since yesterday, the retirement of Sehwag has been one such news, which is trending in all the social networking sites, and is continuously being discussed among the cricket lovers.

Yesterday, Sehwag attended the launch ceremony of the veterans 2020 league in Dubai.  Brian Lara, Graeme Smith and Azhar Mahmood are also present at the ceremony.

As a part of the interview, when Sehwag was asked how he could play as Masters Champions League (MCL) is a retired cricketers’ league, he said, “If I am not retired I will not play. I will go back to India and announce my retirement.”

Before playing in the MCL, Sehwag will complete his Ranji Trophy commitments with Haryana, as Sehwag will play in MCL in February next year.  

In the career of 12 years, Sehwag scored 8586 runs in 104 tests, at an average of 49.34. He had 23 centuries and 32 half centuries in his cricket career.   

Moreover, Sehwag holds the record of scoring the triple century in tests for India. He scored 319 runs against Pakistan at Multan. The Indian record is till date under his name.   

He even holds the record of being one of the rare batsmen, who scored two triple centuries. The second one was with South Africa and the score is 309.

In 251 ODIs, he scored 8273 runs at an average of 35.05 and 15 hundreds, apart from scoring 38 fifties. In 19 Twenty-20 initernationaals, Sehwag scored 394 runs with two half-centuries.

By the way, Sehwag is celebrating his birthday today and should be seen what clarity he is going to give about his retirement, this evening.
