Wankhede stadium pitch may turn out to be a killing field for the men with willows. As the second test between India and England has just began , English bowlers already took three Indian wickets. Gambhir was the first one to go after he got a LBW decision against him in a brilliant over bowled by pacer James Anderson.
To make matters worse for India , shortly afterwards Gambhir's dismissal , Shehwag and Sachin both got bowled by spinner Monty Panesar. Panesar, who was controversially omitted from England's Test side in Ahmedabad, after curtailing Virender Sehwag's 100th-Test celebrations, followed up with the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar to ensure that the hosts feel the heat of his superb deliveries.
Earlier in the Pitch report, Ravi Shastri predicted the troubles for batsman by saying :“ Spinners will be licking their fingers here. Don't read too much into the grass, it is just to keep the English bowlers on the hook. If at all there is a chance of India playing three spinners, it should be done here. Dhoni has got what he has asked for. The captain would love to win the toss and bat first, put as many runs on board as possible. For all we know, the match might be over by Day 4.”
Right now Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli is on the crease scoring 38 and 6 runs respectively. The fate of Indian batting line up is totally unclear as so far English bowlers have managed to swing and turn the ball magnificently.
