IPL gets dirtier with arrogance dominating

Latest updates are that 27-year old Australian Player, Luke Pomersbach, is alleged to have misbehaved with an US citizen of Indian origin woman and beaten up her beau who resisted. He is arrested by the police based on the complaint by the couple.

In her complaint, the woman said the player invited himself for some drinks with the couple and some common friends from Mumbai in their room. She left the men alone and went to her bedroom for catching some sleep but Luke followed her and misbehaved with her, she alleged. When her fiancée intervened, Luke allegedly beat him up, she said.

The fifth edition of Indian Premier League going on at the moment is in limelight for all wrong reasons. On Wednesday the Kolkata Franchiser, noted Bollywood actor Sharukh Khan was accused of a drunken brawl with the grounds men at the Mumbai grounds. On Thursday in Delhi, the visiting players staying at a hotel are alleged to have assaulted a foreign couple after heated brawl, late last night. The game seems to be getting dirtier day by day.

As per latest reports the couple is being treated for bruises, alleged to have been inflicted by some IPL players who were also guests at the hotel. `Players reportedly from the Bangalore Royal Challengers team allegedly got into a brawl with the US national, who was with her boyfriend at the Maurya Sheraton hotel in Delhi.  Both the foreigners were injured and admitted to the nearby Primus hospital.’

The latest controversy goes on to prove that the country’s most luxurious and lucrative encounter is taking ugly turn which seems bad for the game and the society as well. Just recently spot-fixing was unearthed in the IPL and BCCI suspended almost five players alleged to have been involved in the scam. Hope things get sorted out amicably and the prestige of the sport maintained. For the benefit of Cricket, that is supposed to be a `game of gentlemen’, well followed by billions across the globe.  (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
