An NRI was allegedly abducted on the pretext of being sent to Canada for a better job. The incident apparently took place in Darjeeling where the abductors took the victim. Twenty-seven-year old Kundan Kumar was a resident of Delhi who worked as a chef in Ghana. Since he unhappy with the job, he looked for a change. Over the same, Kundan Kuamr came to India in July wherein he met one Prakash Magar who lured him for a job. The deal to send him to Canada was Rs. 10 lakhs.
After all fake formalities were completed, the victim was asked to fly to Kolkata. There Prakash Magar was given spike drink after which he lost his consciousness and found himself tied with ropes at a hotel in Darjeeling. They miscreants released the victim after they received nine lakh rupees from the vitim.
