Amazon and Google Bribes to Layoffs:- Only in 2023, 1,68,918 employees received pink slips from 570 tech firms including Google, Meta and Amazon. Due to the stronger labour protection rules in European regions, Amazon and Google are facing problems to layoffs the employees. In European countries, companies need to consult “employee interest groups” before going for layoff and this is creating problems as they postpone the layoffs.

Google is looking for assistance in France and Germany for quick layoffs and Amazon is also for better options in Germany. With no option left the companies are offering to choose a voluntary departure of employees by their own wish, which is a sort of bribing the employees to leave their jobs. According to reports from DNA, Alphabet, the parent firm of Google is asking the employees to retire with interest by offering several packages.

Sources say that out of 8000 employees at Google in the UK, they intend to cut 500 jobs in the UK alone. These employees going to take secret packages for leaving the job. While Amazon is offering one year of pay to senior managers with 5-8 years of experience to go resign voluntarily. It is an open negotiation for the employees. In Germany alone, Google is planning to cut 200 employees. Companies are taking measures by following the rules and regulations of the countries' labour laws before going for layoff.
