Mumbai Indians in Playoffs

Mumbai Indians chase down a huge total and that too in minimum overs which eventually made them to find a spot in the Playoffs. MI skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field first. Rajasthan Royals did not make a good start as one of the opener Shane Watson was removed by Harbhajan Singh. But Sanju Samson and Karun Nair batted brilliantly and scored boundaries, kept the scoreboard running. Both the batsmen scored half century and posted a 100 run partnership too.

Samson and Nair were dismissed, then Hodge and Faulkner batted till the end. RR posted a total of 189 runs in their twenty overs. MI to qualify for the Playoffs need to chase the massive total in 14.2 overs with the net runrate.

Right from the beginning, MI batsmen tried to score boundaries every over and eventually the openers got out. Simmons and Hussey did not give the team enough boost. Corey Anderson who arrived in first down, blasted every RR bowler. He scored 95 runs in just 44 balls which made MI to Playoffs. Anderson scored nine fours and six sixes in his 95. Rayudu too played a crucial role by stopping the wickets fall. In the end it was an unbelievable victory for the MI.

Score details:  RR: 189/4, Samson 74, Nair 50, Bumrah 1/30
                         MI:  195/5, C Anderson 95, Rayudu 30
