Rajya Sabha Elections Postponed:- The coronavirus scare had an adverse impact in all the fields across the globe. All the countries are now under lockdown to prevent the further spread of this deadly disease. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has decided to postpone the Rajya Sabha elections that are scheduled to takee place on March 26th. With the country under lockdown and rise in the coronavirus cases, ECI decided to postpone the Rajya Sabha polls.

The national capital New Delhi is under lockdown till March 31st. The election that was announced earlier is set to fill up 55 seats in the Parliament house. 37 candidates among them are already elected without any contest. The Election Commission of India will take a call on the Rajya Sabha elections for the remaining 18 seats soon after reviewing the coronavirus status in the coming days. The Health Ministry of India today announced that the number of coronavirus cases in the country crossed 500.
