Army Building Two Bridges For Sabarimala Temple:- With the heavy rains and floods, several districts in Kerala have been shattered. With the overflow of Pamba river, the famous Sabarimala temple remained closed from August 13th. The Indian Army decided to build two bailey bridges near Sabarimala temple for the pilgrims to reach the temple. State Tourism and Devasom Minister K. Surendran revealed that the temple town got damaged due to the overflow of Pamba river. He even revealed that they are now not aware of the status of the two bridges that have been closed due to floods in Sabarimala.

Hence they requested the help of Indian Army which is building two bridges for now. The final clearance is expected from the Defence Secretary soon. One of the bridges will be built for vehicular traffic and other one will be completely for pedestrians. The minister also revealed that they are keen on re-opening the temple at the earliest. All the religious rituals are going on though the temple has been closed for people. On the other side, the Kerala Government cancelled the Onam celebrations this year and diverted all the funds for relief operations in the state.
