KCR Announces Rs 550 Cr as a Relief Fund for Telangana Rains:- Telangana's capital Hyderabad has been badly impacted with the recent rains. All the low-lying regions are submerged and as many as 50 people lost their lives. Telangana Chief Minister KCR held a high-level meeting with the officials today ahead of the rains in the city. Hyderabad was issued an orange alert before the rains. The officials are asked to evacuate the people in the low-lying regions. Telangana Chief Minister KCR today announced a relief fund of Rs 550 crores for the people of Telangana. Rs 1 lakh compensation has been announced for the houses that are totally damaged because of the rains.
All the houses that are partially damaged will receive Rs 50,000 as compensation. KCR interacted with the officials of GHMC and instructed them to deploy people to bring back things to normal. The Telangana government estimates the loss occurred due to the recent rains to be Rs 400 crores. KCR also asked the officials to undertake the repair works of the roads and other structures immediately. KCR directed the officials to release the funds immediately. KCR also requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to release an immediate fund of Rs 1350 crores as a relief for the state which is affected because of the recent rains.
