Petroleum minister Jaipal Reddy broke his silence on gas allocations to Maharashtra. He has said that the cabinet sub committee would look into the allocation of KG basin gas to Maharashtra. To make a point, Jaipal Reddy has said that the Centre kept aside Maharashtra for the past 11 months, despite Maharashtra was in acute oil shortage, and allocated gas to Andhra Pradesh.
Further, Jaipal Reddy has said that he was answerable on this entire issue in the parliament. He, however, assured the political leaders in the state that he would discuss the matter with the prime minister Manmohan Singh. Nonetheless, he told politicians not to make alleged derogatory statements.
