Maharashtra Political Crisis: BJP Running Operation Lotus:- The government of Maharashtra led by Uddhav Thackeray is now in crisis after Minister Eknath Shinde along with 21 MLAs revolted against the government. BJP claims that they have 134 votes in the Assembly. All the 22 MLAs from Shiv Sena along with an independent met in a star hotel in Surat in Gujarat. The total Assembly seats in Maharashtra re 288 and one among them passed away. The total came down to 287 and the needed majority is 144. Shiv Sena, National Congress Party (NCP) and Congress are having 152 MLAs. With 22 MLAs turning against, their majority will drop down to 133.
BJP leader Sudhir Mungantiwar announced that BJP has 134 votes in the Legislative Council elections. BJP is keen to form the government by taking the support of the rebel MLAs in the house. Shinde along with 21 MLAs flew to Surat after Maha Vikas Aghadi lost one of the six seats in the Legislative Council elections that were held yesterday. BJP says that they have nothing to do with Shinde moving to Surat. Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil said that if they receive any request from Shinde and team, they would consider the request. Shiv Sena which was an ally of BJP deferred with the national party after 2019 elections and joined hands with NCP and Congress.
