Mutyala Prakash replaces Vijayalakshmi

The congress high command made last minute changes in the candidate contesting from the Mahaboobnagar assembly constituency in the forthcoming by polls.

Reacting to the criticism that not even a single BC candidate was selected to contest the by polls in the district, the party dropped the candidature of Vijayalakshmi, wife of deceased MLA M. Rajeswara Reddy from the Mahaboobnagar by poll fray and announced that DCC president Mutyala Prakash, a backward classes leader, would be its candidate.

It may be recalled the state congress leadership has earlier announced that Vijayalakshmi would contest the by poll.
The list of candidates was officially announced in Delhi by the party high command and the rest of the candidates are Y. Raja Reddy for Kamareddy, C. Ramachandra Reddy for Adilabad, R. Pratap for Station Ghanpur, K. Damodar Reddy for Nagarkurnool, K. Vishnuvardhan Reddy for Kollapur and P. Srinivasulu Reddy for Kovuru. (JUBS)
