YSRC acting president YS Vijayalaksmi has been receiving grand welcome while she's heading to Sircilla for taking part in chenetha deeksha in hand loom town. YS Vijayalakshmi was received grandly on Medak district outskirts by Vantamamidi villagers. Vijayamma has garlanded the statue of late YSR, which was erected in the village. While she was paying respected to the legendary chief minister, everyone gathered there to have a glimpse of Vijayamma.

The reports indicated that scores of people arrived at Vantamamidi in the early hours of Monday itself after they came to know Vijayamma would halt there to offer flowers to late YSR. From Vantamamidi, Vijayamma later reached Pragnapur of Medak district, where she again garlanded another YSR's statue in the town.

Meanwhile, a large number of students were arrested in Hyderabad as they gathered to obstruct the tour of Vijayamma that would conclude with chenetha deeksha today. Notably, CRPF battalions were beefed up in and around Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad as TRS called for a bandh in Sircilla and said it would obstruct the protest of Vijayamma. On the other hand, TRS leader Harish Rao was taken into the preventive custody in Sangareddy. He was reportedly shifted to Siddipet Guest House. The sources said Harish Rao was arrested as they suspected that Harish Rao might obstruct Vijayamma's convoy at Siddipet.

All in all, tension atmosphere prevailed in Sircilla, where Vijayamma will sit for protest in a shortwhile from now. Notably, this proposed protest is against the Congress government's apathetic approach towards the problems of hand loom weavers.
